As usual, I spent most of the weekend hanging around the house, doing random jobs, which is ok with me. Jeff was away all day Saturday at a wrestling tournament, but since he was up before 6 to head to school, so was I. I got quite a bit done before 9 am!
I love days like that!
I love Valentine's Day- it's not a "Hallmark" holiday in my mind. If you remember, my Poppy was born on Valentine's Day, which is why my middle name (along with a few other people) is Valentine. Love it. Of course you know the newest Valentine is Vivian- she also shares Poppy's middle name, which of course, is her Mommy's middle name too! I'll cut to the chase- I feel that I can put up a few Valentine's Day decorations now, since people decorate for Christmas a month early, why can't I decorate for Valentine's Day a month early?! So- I did this yesterday morning:
I modified an idea from my friend Jennifer's Blog. She created a Sis Boom printable, and she hung up "Love Yourself" and I just hung up Love You, to tell Jeff that I love him, and Kristi too, and anyone else that comes to this house! You can print the letters on cardstock, cut them out, hole punch them, string them on some pretty ribbon, and there you have it- a sweet little craft. Cute, right?! Check out the Sis Boom blog, you'll be inspired. Jennifer is one of the most creative and generous people I know. We just love her.
Ok, here are some of the practice onesie cookies I made. I know that many of these will get eaten by us, but I set some aside to give to Jordan, and I also made a few to give to another co-worker who just found out she is having a girl. They turned out ok. My cookies weren't super smooth, so that messed with the icing a little, so I need to try to fix that next time. Jordan's shower is March 6th, so I have some more time to get it right. Here are a few:
My parents are stopping through this upcoming weekend on their way to Florida, so I'm looking forward to that.
It's another busy week, which usually makes it go quickly.
Hope you're having a good weekend!
Check back tomorrow for cute little Martin Luther King post.
