OBX

We had a short "spring break" this year, and we were generously given a beach house in the Outer Banks to use one week before the summer season started. We decided to use it the week of Easter, even though we only had Thursday and Friday off from school. (We also had Monday, but since we had to check out of the beach house on Saturday, Monday wasn't a factor in picking the week to use the house.) It worked out nicely because my parents and their friends went down to the house on the Sunday before Easter and my parent's friends stayed until Wednesday, which is when Jeff, Kristi and I arrived. The trip down wasn't too bad, and we were just happy to be out of town for a few days!

So...of course the entire week there was beautiful weather. My parents and their friends spent time on the beach every day and even got some nice tans! And then we arrived. It was down right COLD the entire time we were there! We still walked the beach, and went in the spa at the house, but it was certainly not "bathing suit weather!" Other than the weather being less than stellar, we had a great time. Jeff and my dad got to golf, and we did a little shopping- not to mention a lot of eating! :) Hey, what else is there to do when it rains at the beach?!

Here are some pictures from our time in Corolla:

We didn't have as much luck on the drive home as we did heading down. It took FOREVER to get home. Almost 8 hours! (it took us almost 5 1/2 hours to get down there) Anyway, once we got home on Saturday night, we pretty much hung out at home. Easter Sunday we went to church and got a TON of yard work done. We had a delicious pasta dinner- it was also great to know we didn't have to go to school the next day!

Monday was filled with more yard work- to prepare for Apple Blossom! Dad also left on Monday, but Mom stayed for the week so she could be in town for The Bloom.
