A fun weekend!

We had a very different weekend, mostly because we were supposed to get bad weather on Friday night and Saturday.  This means the tournament Jeff was scheduled to go to was canceled, so he was home all weekend!  So weird for a Saturday in January!  (and side note…the weather was kind of fine!) It was also great because dear friends of ours visited from Edinboro.  I was Dr. Snodgrass' Graduate Assistant throughout grad school, and I basically forced myself on their family….kidding!  I'm not actually sure how it all happened, but they became like my second family while in Edinboro, and my parents became friends with them, and I just haven't let them forget me!  Her and Mr. S are great, and we were thrilled to hear they would be stopping in on their way south, searching for warmer weather, of course!  We had a great time catching up on Friday night, then they stayed the night at Kristi's…she adopted them in Edinboro too, and then they were able to come back over Saturday morning for breakfast and to spend the day.  We walked Old Town and did lots of laughing and talking!  I'm so glad they were able to spend so much time with us, and I'm so thankful for lifelong friendships!

Poor Anna didn't last while we were in Old Town.  We were a little off their normal schedule, so I wasn't surprised she didn't make it.  Just note her poor runny nose!
I was also able to make some cookies just for fun!  I had my eye on a deli platter cookie tutorial for months and months, and I finally whipped it together.  I think they turned out ok.  I think I'm always my own worst critic, but I hopefully someone will enjoy them at their Super Bowl party.  Here are a few (too many) pictures of them.  I'm trying hard to take better pictures of my cookies, so I apologize in advance for the gazillion I'll share!
