Poor kid...

The girls first day back at school was a success.  Well…for the most part.  Anna didn't nap much.  I tried not to really worry about it too much, since after all, she's in a different place with different people, so it's all new to her.  She was whiny and clingy Monday evening, which isn't normally her style, and she felt warm.  I decided just to check her temp, and it was at 101.4.  I honestly thought the behavior and the temperature might be teeth related.  The sweet girl is just about to turn one, and she still has no pearly whites!  I gave her a little tylenol and she went to bed fine.  She woke up and still had a little fever, but again, I wasn't too worried.  Daycare called yesterday afternoon to let me know her fever was creeping up and she just wasn't herself.  I went to get her, and decided to call the doctor…mostly so I could be assured it was just her teeth and that it was safe for her to go back to daycare.  But…by the time we got to the doctor her temp was 102.4 and they said a teething temp doesn't go that high.  Her ears looked great, but her throat was very red, so he did a strep test, and it came  back positive!  He said she was a little young for strep, but since she has an older sister and goes to daycare, it was possible.  Poor thing!  I honestly had no idea it would be something like that!  But, we got a first dose of medicine in her before bed and Jeff and I rotated staying home with her.  I'm sorry that this happened to Anna, but I'm thankful it happened now, and not next week when our schedules aren't as flexible.  I think she'll be feeling much better by tomorrow, at least that's what I'm praying for!

Here is the only picture from the first day of school I could snap fast enough before Anna really ran away!
