Christmas Program

Claire had a little Christmas program at her school last night.  Naturally, I was worried, because I'm that lame mom who  never takes her kids out in the evenings, because they're typically a wee bit cranky, and go to bed at 7 pm (amen), and let's be honest, my social calendar isn't exactly what you would call busy...so usually, there's no need to head out once we're home from school.  The program started at 6:30, and Claire had me worried when she refused to let me take her picture before we left!  Oh boy...this could get ugly!  Of course, you know what I'm going to say...I was pleasantly surprised and it was all good!  Anna was good too.  She eats at 6, yes, every single night, which is when we were driving there, but she was a trooper and ate while we were waiting for the program to start, and then promptly put herself to sleep.

I was expecting Claire to stand up there with her hands in her mouth the entire time they were supposed to be singing.  But, as usual...I was wrong!  She actually did some of the hand motions, but mostly was interested in watching Miss Emily play the guitar and Miss Fiona play the violin.  Most of the kids were more interested in that!  I am certain she knows the songs, because she has been singing them non-stop at home, but the kiddos were cute even without too much singing!

Jeff wasn't able to go, because he left early that morning to head to a wrestling tournament.  It was scheduled as a two day event, but the organizers decided to squeeze it all into one day, with the threat of more snow.  So that means Jeff left the house about 6:30 Friday morning, and walked in the door at 3:20 Saturday morning!  Phew!  He was beat!  I think he had a few kids do well, from what I got from our brief conversation at that hour!

Here are some iffy pictures from the night.  Apparently, events like these fill up quickly, and since this is my first time with this, I didn't know that!  Ha!  We were a little far away from the stage, but it's all good!

This is a picture Claire took while I was trying to bribe her to smile for the camera.

Hope you have a great weekend!
