The new theme of my blog should be: "Michele is a slacker". I know I shouldn't worry too much, since there are probably 10 people total who read this, all of whom probably know most of the exciting happenings going on here, but still- I should entertain you with my fabulous writing skills (not!) a little more often than once a month!
Since school started life has been teaching, coaching, working, and trying to get lots done at home. I just recently stopped working at the funeral home. I really liked that job, and I was sad to have to stop, but it was getting to be too much, especially the nights I wasn't getting home until after 9. This pregnant lady needs to rest! Coaching basketball has been tough too, but it will all be ok, and the season is pretty short (it's over October 12) so I can't complain too much. My classes have been really good so far. (Just note I said "so far" because it's still early, and there's always time for big changes to happen!) :)
Once again, I am a blessed/spoiled/lucky lady. Kristi and my friend Karen hosted a baby shower for me here in Winchester. It was this past Saturday morning at the local Country Club, and it was just lovely! I really felt so special with everything they put into it, and to receive so many wonderful books and gifts for baby Holmes. I need to get some pictures from Kristi's camera and share them with you.
In a little more exciting/gross news, we spent several hours in the ER on Sunday night. Long story short, I was at work, but Jeff called to tell me he cut his foot pretty badly and he didn't sound too good! (he doesn't do so well with blood and such!) There was still a family at the funeral home, so I couldn't just leave immediately, so I called Kristi and she drove over to check on him! (thank goodness for her!) I got home as quickly as I could and took a look and knew we had to go get him stitches. I'm sure the suspense is killing you, and you just have to know how this happened....well....pay attention, cause here is goes. He walked outside on to the deck, barefoot, to call Bella inside. Unknown to him there was a nail head sticking out of the deck and, I'll let you figure out the rest! He got himself pretty good, and I think they gave him 8 stitches. The ER nurses and doctor were awesome- it just takes FOREVER! We got home around 1:30am- so let's just say it was a tired start to a long week for both of us! Jeff is doing just fine, and the wound seems to be healing quite well. Another week and he can get his stitches out.
Ok, I think that's it for now. I promise to get some pictures from Kristi's camera. Today we're off to a wedding in Fredericksburg for our friends Jake and Heather.
Happy weekend to you!
