Let me be totally honest about something right now....I CAN'T stand packing lunches. It makes me cranky. (Stupid reason to get in a bad mood, right?!) Well, not if you're me. It's the worst job ever. I pack lunches at night so then I don't have to worry about it in the morning, thinking maybe it won't be so bad if I get it out of the way. Well, the few mornings where I have to do it, I hate it even more, so I stick with night packing, but it doesn't make it much easier! I personally am not much of a sandwich eater, never really have been, and I don't care too much for lunch meat...so that eliminates one option- but at the same time, I get sick of salads, and a piece of fruit and yogurt don't really always do the trick....ugh. Do you get what I'm saying?! It's WAY too much of a thought process for such a simple thing. If I had my way, I would come home for lunch. Eat a few slices of sharp cheddar cheese, some crackers, maybe a few pickles, some fruit and then if I'm feeling really crazy, an ice cream cone! Now, I know what you're thinking, I could pack all those things for lunch. Yes, I could. But...I don't want to. I would rather stand in my kitchen eating those things, coming and going as I please. Weird, you say? Yes, I agree! Now, enough about myself...I have to pack Jeff's lunch too. (Well, it's not like he's ever told me I have to pack his lunch- I just do. He tells me all the time that he'll buy, but I refuse, because the food is not good for him, and paying $3.00 a day for crappy food doesn't seem like a good way to spend $15 a week.) He always eats whatever I pack him, and never complains, but I can't stand packing his lunch because I feel like I pack the same thing EVERY SINGLE DAY. How boring! He always gets a sandwich, sometimes I change up the "flavor", and he likes chips, so he gets those too, sometimes he get fruit snacks, or some other gross, kind of unhealthy treat (I think twinkies are his favorite of all) and then some fruit, with a bottle of water, sometimes with one of those packet things that you can pour in the bottle to flavor it. Can you say boring?! Of course, it's totally weird that I am telling you what Jeff eats for lunch everyday. Sometimes he gets left overs from dinner the night before, but usually I'll take the left overs because he'll eat a sandwich.
Anyway...the whole point of this stupid post is to tell you that I only have to pack lunches THREE...yes THREE more times until next school year. Oh my goodness. Shouts of joy coming from this girl! Just think...when I have kids I'll probably have to pack their lunch too! (No wonder my mom always seemed like she was in a bad mood after dinner when she was in the kitchen packing lunches for 5 people...I never realized how annoying the task could be! So, thanks mom, for packing my lunch every day while I was in school- I owe ya!)
