Denver is a beautiful city, with so much to see and do. We wish we could have spent more time there, to do some hiking, see Pike's Peak, go to Colorado Springs, and so much more.
Here are some of the trip highlights:
We met up with my college teammate and friend, Tara, and her husband Adam. They live in Colorado Springs, and we met halfway to have dinner the first night we were there. It was so great to see her and catch up. It was also wonderful to meet Adam, and see Tara so happy!
Both her and Adam will deploy to Iraq in October, for about 13 months, so I wish them the best and hope they stay safe.
We were a little disappointed that the Rockies were not in town while we were there, but we did make our way to the ball park to at least get a picture. Too bad we couldn't go in! We also met Nick, Paul, Aisha, Brian and Melissa for a late dinner and drinks, and then the bride and groom and their families showed up to have a little fun too!

The following day was rehearsal, the Coors Brewery Tour, and the rehearsal dinner. All of these things were awesome.
First of all...the location of the wedding was absolutely beautiful. It was a gorgeous sunny day, and it was so nice to snap a few pictures and enjoy the excitement and pre-wedding jitters.
A group of us went to Golden, Colorado that afternoon to have a quick lunch and check out the Coors Brewery. It's a free tour, and they give you free beer too...so it's a good deal! I liked that the tour was self-guided, and you could go at your own pace. It was quick and easy and you went right to the tasting area, where you could sample lots of different Coors Company beers. We had a good time!
That evening was the rehearsal dinner at this great Italian place. I know you would have never guessed it, but I kind of like Italian food! :) It was a tasty dinner and a very enjoyable evening....a good way to end a great day!
Sunday was wedding day, and the weather was again beautiful. We hung out around the hotel most of the day, before the guys had to get ready. It was fun hanging with the guys, and helping any way I could with ties, and jackets, and the handkerchiefs that needed to be folded and put in their jacket pocket. The ceremony was lovely, it was very special to hear the vows they wrote to each other. The cocktail hour, and reception were wonderful. Both Jeff and I enjoyed ourselves, and we think everyone else did too!
So...Congratulations Matt & Amanda. It was a beautiful wedding, and we are so glad we could share in your special day. We wish you lots of love and blessings as you start your new life together.
