It's official. I have been selected to run the New York City Marathon on November 7. I entered my name in the lottery a few months ago, not really knowing what to expect, and I found out last week that I'm in! I initially felt a little sick to my stomach (can you imagine how I'll be on race day if I felt like that when I found out?!) but now I'm actually pretty pumped up about it. I am also quite sure this will be the only marathon I run, and New York City is so awesome, so I figured, why not?! It will be nice to have my family there too, since my mom grew up in Northern Jersey, and some family is still in that area. So that's it...I'm running a marathon. Wow. I know it seems like November is forever away, but I'm sure just like everything else, it will be here before I know it.
Kristi and I are signed up to run the Virginia Beach Rock and Roll 1/2 marathon in September, which should be great. It will be Kristi's first half, and I just loved that race so much the last time I ran it.
