After months and months of training...the big day is only a week away! I knew I would look back on my training, and think it went by so fast, which it did, but I have to be honest- at times during the training, I thought it would never end! I think about that day in April when I got the email saying I was chosen in the lottery and I was "in." I felt sick to my stomach! Probably no more sick to my stomach than I will feel next weekend, but still, I was worried! Now that the training is almost over, I am so thankful I could do it, and I am so pleased I never stopped, even though it was miserable at times! Now I just have to get through the race...the whole point of all this crazy training! My body held up surprisingly well. No major blisters or black toe nails, which I give a lot of credit to my shoes for that. I appreciate my dad's good friend, and Nike representative, Paul, who sent me several pairs of running shoes during my training. I hadn't run in Nike's ever before, but they turned out to be a good fit for me. Other than a little foot pain, I was injury free! I'll get a few short runs in this week, and then it's time to head to New York! We're actually staying at my Aunt Nan's in Jersey, which will work out so nice. Jeff, Kristi and I will head up there after school on Friday, then Saturday we will go into the city to get my race packet, and then I have to be at the Meadowlands to catch my shuttle to Staten Island by 6:15 on Sunday morning. My start time isn't until 10:40, so it's going to be a long day!
My parents are even going to come down to watch! Dad won his play off game on Friday night, which means his team plays Friday evening at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Buffalo. His team is currently ranked second in the state! Way to go Dad & Bulldogs! So, that means they will come down Saturday.
I know this is a very boring post, sorry about that.
I got so many things done around the house this weekend, which makes me happy. I finally got the bathroom painted, and even painted the ceiling. The new vanity should be installed this week, and FINALLY the bathroom will be done.
I am so glad we don't have students Monday or Tuesday of this week. We've got a few teacher work days, which is nice. It should be a smooth 3 day week. I actually go into health starting Wednesday, so it's nice to start with a short week.
I hope you had a nice weekend!
I'll leave you with a picture of Bella and I watching Monday night football!
