Claire's day

Claire had a very fun birthday.  We started the day off at IHOP with free funny face pancakes!  We decided to do breakfast because Jeff had to leave town for a wrestling tournament right after school.  Both girls liked their breakfast, but Claire was looking forward to school so she could "celebrate" with her friends!  I think we have the best daycare around!  They made Claire's day so special for her, and snapped lots of pictures for me, since I couldn't be there to celebrate.  She had an adorable mickey cake that a friend made, which she loved!  After school we just laid low at home, played with her new toys (from daycare), had homemade macaroni and cheese (per her request) for dinner, had some cake and played some more!  We haven't done the whole trick or treating thing yet, and I'll tell you what, I can't believe how opinionated people are about that decision!  Last year she went with Jeff to a Halloween event at the mall, and she also went to Jake & Katie to "trick or treat", but we haven't gone on actual Halloween night.  In my mind, there is plenty of time for trick or treating, and because both girls still go to bed so early, it's easier to just take them to a few friends houses during the afternoon.  I know that one day Claire will want to go, and that's ok, but I'd rather celebrate her birthday for now, and she's not upset about that at all!  She seems to get that kids go trick or treating, which is good, and I'm sure we'll have lots of fun as soon as we decide to go.  When she woke up on Saturday morning she asked if she could have another birthday because she liked to eat the cake! ha!  (Is she her mother's child or what?!)

Check out this Frozen poster one of the daycare teachers made for Claire.  She did the whole thing by hand!  She is Anna's teacher now, but was Claire's teacher when she was in the one year old class.  It's so sweet she would take the time to do that for Claire!

We gave Claire a bed tent that was mine when I was little!  I wasn't sure how she'd take to it, thinking she may be a bit scared to sleep in it, but she loves it!  I'm so glad, and I'm happy my mom saved that silly thing all these years!
