Christmas

So far we've had a fabulous time in New York. We spent a few days in Albion with my family and then traveled Christmas afternoon to Syracuse to be with Jeff's family.
On Friday my Mom took all of us ice skating. My dad was the only one who didn't skate, but he watched Vivian while Kadi and Peter got some skating in. It was really fun, and there were only a few wipe outs!

After skating we went to Kadi & Pete's for a few drinks and some lunch. Then, of course once we were back to my parents, Jeff and my Mom made some calamari, and we ate and ate until we were happy and stuffed! We played cards and took it easy, since the church my parents go to doesn't have a Christmas eve service.

I think Bella missed the memo that it's Christmas vacation, because she has been awake before 6 am each day, which means, I've been awake too! Since she was up that early on Christmas, I figured I might as well get up and get a run in. I only did 3 miles, but it was a nice way to start the day, and let's face it...I knew I'd be eating all day, so it made me feel a little better about pigging out! Kadi, Peter and Vivian came over, we opened gifts, and Mom made breakfast. It was a great morning!
I was totally spoiled. I mean, really spoiled! All of my gifts are so wonderful. I got a NYC Marathon finishers sweatshirt, a North Face fleece jacket, a charm for my pandora bracelet- it's a heart with NYC on one side and my finishing time on the other, I got a new vacuum cleaner- it's like one of the best vacuum's you can get for pet hair, and I am SO excited about it! I definitely can't wait to use it at my house- I love to vacuum! Peter had my name for the family gift exchange, and he got me a pair of Ugg boots! They are perfect! He was too good to me! I also got fun things in my stocking like a roll of stamps, itunes card, AAA roadside service membership, note cards, a baseball trivia game, and hand soaps. I am very blessed.

We left around 11:30 to drive to Syracuse. We went right to Kim's and started eating good food right away! Lots of the family came to Kim's for Christmas dinner, so it was great to see everyone. We exchanged gifts, and it's always so fun to watch Alaina open her gifts.

We had a delicious dinner. We had a perfectly cooked roast, mashed potatoes, asparagus, a cauliflower & spinach casserole, carrots, salad, and of course, cookies and pie for dessert. We also had some awesome appetizers before we even ate dinner. Things like, buffalo chicken dip, cajun crab dip, brie, veggies, shrimp cocktail, harry & david dip- you know, good things like that! I also was spoiled with gifts in Syracuse. Aunt Diane made all the ladies jewelry, mine is green and blue, and it's very pretty! Kim got me a new charm for my pandora bracelet, and a necklace with my initials. I also got two new charms for my bracelet from MJ, a new bubble gum wrapper purse she got in Mexico, fancy and fun dishwashing gloves (they are so cute!) a little swiss army knife combo thing, a tire gage and window breaker tool, and lots of other fun gifts. It was a great day!
I hope you also had a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends.
